Perplexity AI: Why Power Users Are Nerding Out

What's the most-used AI model in Matt Wolfe's toolbox? He uses Perplexity multiple times daily for everything from fact-checking X claims to planning trips to Kauai.

Beyond basic searches, Perplexity shines with features most users overlook. You can switch between web, academic, or social media searches and create custom "spaces" for project research. The Discover tab functions as your personalized AI newspaper, curating tech news based on your interests.

The practical applications are endless - you can get SEO keyword suggestions or have PDFs explained (even handwritten notes!). The mobile app adds voice commands and camera integration.

Then, there's the Deep Research mode that delivers comprehensive analyses of complex topics within minutes. Plus, you can export responses as PDFs or markdown for reference later.

Matt covers it all in this 25-minute video. Watch more here.

6 AI Prompts to Supercharge Your Content Strategy

Looking to level up your content game? Andy Crestodina just dropped a super practical guide showing how AI can transform your content strategy - no fancy tech degree required!

He walks through six copy-paste prompts that help with everything from understanding your audience to finding trending topics that'll actually get engagement.

The guide covers creating audience personas (because AI = Average Information until it knows your audience), crafting email CTAs that convert, discovering social topics people actually care about (hint: opinions trigger algorithms!), generating original research ideas that attract backlinks, finding communities where your target audience hangs out, and using your GA4 data to match topics with promotion channels.

The best part? You don't need to be an AI wizard - just copy, paste, and tweak. Each prompt is ready to use in any LLM (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whatever you prefer). Read more here.

5 Settings to Customize on ChatGPT

Ever felt like ChatGPT just doesn't get you. You ask for help and get a Wikipedia-style answer. You try again with a longer prompt or more context, and the result is still: meh. Meanwhile, your colleague is cranking out gold that reads like a top-tier strategist wrote it. What gives?

I's not about better prompts—it's about personalization. Most users completely overlook one game-changing setup inside ChatGPT that teaches it who you are before you even ask a single question. And once you tweak these settings, everything shifts—from tone to relevance to sheer usefulness.

If you've ever wanted ChatGPT to feel less robotic and more like a marketing-savvy partner who actually gets your world, this is the 30-second fix you didn't know you needed. Watch our video here.

Content at Scale: How to Train AI to Create Great Content

Audra Carpenter developed a data-driven system to train AI for authentic content creation, successfully doubling her social media following from 25,000 to 50,000 in 90 days. The foundation of her approach is a comprehensive training database built from researching 100 high-performing LinkedIn posts from 15 profiles with 40,000-300,000 followers across different industries. She organized these examples in a Google spreadsheet tracking metrics like engagement, content category, target audience, and messaging, then used Claude to analyze patterns. This structured database, combined with detailed personal voice guidelines documenting her experiences, personality, and values, was uploaded to a Claude Project. The critical insight: study what algorithms actually reward rather than creating what you think is good content, as successful posts often lean into platform-specific patterns rather than being universally exceptional.

With this preparation complete, Audra can now generate LinkedIn posts in as little as two minutes with simple prompts, producing content that delivers significant engagement increases and professional opportunities including speaking invitations and podcast appearances. The system requires platform-specific training—content databases must be recreated for each social platform since what works on LinkedIn doesn't transfer directly to Facebook. For advanced implementation, she recommends automation tools like N8N for connecting AI services, Relevance AI for building task-specific agents, and Open Router for accessing multiple AI models through one API, allowing assignment of different models to different tasks. Her key recommendation for those struggling to document their voice: record natural conversations with friends or use ChatGPT's voice mode for interviews, then transcribe these to create authentic reference material for AI training.

Regain Your Time With ChatGPT: Training AI to Assist You

Cary Weston reframes ChatGPT as an outstanding intern rather than complex AI software, eliminating technological barriers and enabling immediate productivity gains without a learning curve. The key insight is that most work projects have three phases: ideation and planning, the exhausting busy middle where ideas become first drafts, and the perfection phase where expertise refines the output. ChatGPT excels at condensing the busy middle, freeing professionals to focus on strategic thinking and applying their unique value in the perfection phase. To get started, simply introduce yourself, explain your role and company, then ask how ChatGPT can help—this straightforward approach establishes conversational tone and provides essential context. The revolutionary difference is that ChatGPT operates as a productivity partner that enhances workflow from day one, not software requiring mastery of features and functions.

Building "attribute sets" creates consistent, high-quality results by training ChatGPT on your specific requirements across projects. The three core attribute sets are: voice/tone/style analyzed from ten examples of your best writing, ideal audience including mindset and emotional drivers beyond demographics, and company/services/unique value proposition. Store these externally rather than relying on ChatGPT's memory, and use the AI itself to develop these sets by providing your website or examples for initial ninety percent accurate analysis. Advanced techniques include using ChatGPT to optimize its own instructions, never accepting first responses without asking "tell me more," maintaining careful naming conventions for custom GPTs, and always keeping external backups. Real-world applications like Weston's proposal system demonstrate the power: recording sales calls creates transcript gold that ChatGPT organizes according to trained templates, allowing focus on client rapport rather than note-taking while producing customized proposals using the client's own language.

Advanced NotebookLM Use Cases You Can Apply Today

NotebookLM creates a private large language model that works exclusively with your uploaded content rather than pulling from the internet, offering crucial privacy advantages as your materials don't train the underlying model. The free version supports fifty sources per notebook (three hundred with Google Workspace) across diverse formats including YouTube links, MP3 audio, PDFs, images, Google Drive documents, website links, and web search results. What distinguishes NotebookLM from ChatGPT or Claude is its content isolation—you can select and deselect specific sources with simple clicks to focus analysis precisely on chosen materials. The standout audio overview feature transforms uploaded content into remarkably natural fourteen-minute podcast-style discussions between AI hosts with engaging speech patterns, enthusiasm, and conversational tone that makes even technical content accessible for passive consumption during commutes or exercise.

Five strategic applications from Jen Lehner demonstrate NotebookLM's business value: competitive analysis by uploading competitors' podcasts or videos to reverse-engineer success patterns and identify content gaps; case study creation by feeding messy project materials like emails, screenshots, and notes into audio overview to generate compelling narrative arcs from dry data; comprehensive content audits analyzing years of podcasts or blog posts to identify themes, spot contradictions, and extract specific segments with precise timestamps for automated editing; research synthesis converting white papers, studies, and reports into engaging discussions for deep learning without desk-bound reading sessions; and internal training transforming dense SOPs and documentation into dynamic conversations team members can consume flexibly. Tools like Apify facilitate bulk content gathering, while platforms like Manus enable automation based on NotebookLM's structured outputs, and the analysis can drive execution in specialized tools like HeyGen, Gamma, or Canvas AI for multi-format content creation.

TikTok's U.S. Operations to Transition After American Investment Deal: TikTok has finalized a long-contested divestiture deal with a consortium of U.S. investors—Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX—who will assume 45% ownership of its U.S. business. Oracle will oversee data and algorithm security to ensure compliance with national security regulations, while ByteDance will no longer access U.S. user data. A newly formed joint venture, TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, will manage key operations. The deal, approved by both U.S. and Chinese leadership, is set to close on January 22, 2026. Upon completion, the current TikTok app will be discontinued in the U.S., requiring users to switch to a new platform, details of which have not yet been disclosed. TechCrunch
