Paid Feature Enhancements Likely Coming to Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp
An internal memo sent to Meta employees and obtained by The Verge announced the company is focusing a team on developing possible paid features across its family of platforms.

The initiative follows closely on the heels of other platforms announcing paid features such as Twitter Blue and Snapchat+, and is likely part of a bid to recoup ad revenue losses following the rollout of Apple's ad tracking updates.

The Verge reports that John Hegeman, Meta's VP of monetization, said the company remains committed to growing its ads business and has no plans to let people pay to turn off ads in its apps.
