Have you ever wondered how to deal with outdated WordPress plugins?
Is it safe to use them? Should you find a replacement?
The answer is: it really depends.
Not all outdated plugins are created equal.
There are times, I will use an outdated plugin because that's the only solution in the market, and it still works despite the notice on WordPress plugin directory.
So to help you determine the answer, I have shared my exact due diligence steps that I use to determine if an outdated plugin is safe to install.
Of course I always recommend keeping your plugins up to date when possible, but sometimes as business owners we have to make these choices, and I hope you find this guide useful :)
