A simple planning practice every business owner or marketer should follow... Every quarter identify your top three, and only three, priorities for that quarter.

All your planning, strategizing, and engagements should help you move close to meeting these 3 main goals.

For some years I have been practicing this planning strategy. I am the first to admit, it's a hard process because, well, there are 19 or more priorities, but sticking to three really helps you decide what you should do.

The trick, of course, is that at about mid-quarter, I look up and have made great progress on one or two, but the third is either no longer interesting or something new has crept in under the radar.

It's a constant struggle, but the trick is to find a colleague, mentor, or someone in your organization and have them hold you accountable. That is what has worked for me at least.

I've been sharing a lot of these types of thoughts on LinkedIn – come connect with me there.

As always I value your feedback and questions so send me a note - john@ducttapemarketing.com

Introducing: The Lead Spark Solution

48% of consumers want to receive updates from your brand via SMS / Text Messages. Take a second and think about that for a moment - that's nearly half of consumers today.

It's time to ask yourself - are you texting with your customers or offering a way for them to text you? If not, it's time to start meeting your customers where they are. If you're thinking to yourself, "I want to, but I just don't have time or the means to offer that service."

I've been working on building a new offering to help solve this very problem, and I'd love to set up a call with you to discuss it. I'll be the first to come out and say this may or may not be the solution for your business, but if it's not, I would love to help you discover what is. That is why I went into business after all - simple solutions to real-world, small-business problems.
